FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Yoo Joonghyuk has black hair and matching dark eyes, standing at 6' (184cm) with a fit and muscular build. Generally, he often wears black and usually never wears white. His general countenance is... a perpetual frown, sometimes with or without the knit of his brows. We can say he looks unapproachable for the most part.

His shard rests higher on his chest just below his collarbones, but still centered. Its color is a dark obsidian with gold veins (ref).

PERSONALITY

Joonghyuk is quite rude, seldom showing any polite behavior to anyone aside from his teacher, the Breaking the Sky Sword Saint, and that's because the story he acquired to be her disciple binds him to call her "Master." Most believe he gets away with what he says due to his strength and his handsome face. If only that was the only problem with his personality... Joonghyuk is calculating and distrusting thanks to the premise of his novel. His thought process is pragmatic, decisions harsh, and the respect he garners is out of fear or awe. In general, Joonghyuk doesn't come off as personable. He is difficult to approach due to his cold exterior, let alone befriend. It doesn't help that he doesn't communicate well nor does he try to correct misunderstandings.

Despite being methodical and realistic, Joonghyuk is an idealist at his core. If he didn't care about people, or the world, he wouldn't regress as many times as he did to see a happier ending. In this hellish cycle of revival and death, his stubbornness and unyielding nature shines bright. Sometimes, he's broken. Sometimes, he loses sight of what's important, but he can always be brought back. Importantly, Joonghyuk is human, burdened with the heavy loneliness of regression.

BACKGROUND

Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint is a webnovel about the one single reader, Kim Dokja, of... Another webnovel Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World (aka Ways of Survival). In Ways of Survival, a normal and modern Earth became the next stage of entertainment for Constellations, important and popular figures of history, myths, and media that have transcended as stars in the sky. The plights and ambitions of humans were displayed for the whole galaxy to watch with a streaming service called Dokkaebi Channels which were managed by Dokkaebis themselves, the storytellers that gave scenarios to humans to follow. Many of these scenarios were gruesome and encouraged humans to trample over others to survive and grow stronger however possible, then the consequence of failure was very often death or destruction. Earth was not the only one subjected to this cruel voyeurism; every planet in the galaxy fell victim to the system. This system and "will of the universe" that sold stories of tragedy and hope like a commodity is called the < Star Stream > and it later merged with Kim Dokja's world.

Lie Detection As the name suggests, this skill allows the user to detect if a statement spoken by another individual is a lie. This skill can be negated if the person has a good poker face.

Elemental Sword Aura Yoo Joonghyuk can use all elemental sword auras (such as fire, ice, water, wind, etc). The aura imbues the sword with elemental enchantment and resistance.

Breaking the Sky Breaking the Sky is an extraordinary swordsmanship martial art that can use the power of lightning.

✦ At most can only destroy a building, I guess. The lightning storm can only encompass the immediate area effect with him as the epicenter, nothing city-large, and can only be conjured once a day. Lightning strikes have 1-2 uses, more than that will be drawing from his stamina.

Hellscape of Eternity (FABLE) A story with a specific ability to "relive" the past 1863 regressions, so his strength, prowess, and abilities are on the same level as if he personally lived those 1863 lives. This story/skill is on a time limit, so far at most 10 minutes.

✦ Combined with Transcendence, enhances all stats by double for wobbles hand five (5) minutes? This can increase stamina and usage of skills by like one (1).

Transcendence This is ORV's version of going super saiyan except in a buddhist/martial artist kind of way. It has 6 total levels where he can unlock inhuman stats. Currently, he can only go up to level 5. This is also on a time limit.

Sex Swap He can swap to the female sex, which is supposed to boost his martial sword arts (he's surpassed that requirement). So this just... Exists.

Air Steps As the name suggests, a skill that allows the user to turn the air into invisible steps that they can walk on. A skill exclusive to the strongest returnees from Murim.

✦ While this is not flight, we can say it's limited by his stamina to go a certain distance divided by 2 to create the steps in the first place.

Red Phoenix Shunpo A skill that increases the user's speed.

✦ This is super speed equivalent, so it will be nerfed to limited bursts.

Regeneration / Panacea Heals subject during a deep, deep sleep.

✦ With the caveat of Joonghyuk needing to sleep/rest, I would put a disclaimer the more severe would need more nights/hours of sleep.

General Resistance Joonghyuk has gathered skills that are generally element resistances, poison resistance, and some mental barriers to fend off psychic attacks or mind control.

✦ These can be nerfed to being minimal buffs (somewhere 10%)? Some may not work at all for the sake of narrative/me wanting to play stuff out.

FABLES (GENERAL) ORV also uses the concept of Fables (listed as stories in the wiki) that act as morale boosters, similar to bard songs. Fables bolster their holders by retelling the holder's grand stories which can be heard or seen by other people. As an example, fables that retell how the holder killed a god would further fortify their holder's strength when fighting against gods

At most, they will be written for flavor than actual buffs.

Eye of Sage A skill that allows Joonghyuk to read a character's attribute window. It can be as comprehensive or as vague as you want (don't feel pressured to put numbers). Since Eye of Sage is a skill from his world under the < Star Stream > system, it won't always work 100% properly as it should. Characters with high intuition can perceive they're being evaluated. Lie Detection As it sounds like, Joonghyuk can use lie detection to check if your character is lying. It can be negated by characters that have stellar composure and a good poker face.
